hmm

Well I'm not sure what i'm going to write but i got sick of seeing my last post so idecided to fill this with some whatever writing.
The frustrations of starting your own buisness.
1. time spent
2. money spent
3. no results yet
4. frustration
5. dirty house
6. fast pressured dinners
7. loving your product but not getting any bites yet.
8. the scariness of not getting any bites yet. i know it takes a while but its still scary.
9. the frustrations of sewing troubles
10. trying to figure out how to get your name out there.
I know starting a business is hard work, and i know it takes time but it doesn't mean i can't be like everyone else that starts a business and be frustrated. I'm afraid to make more bags cuz what if i don't sell them. and i'm afraid to stop becuase well what if i start selling them. I keep justifying it by thinking about the spring and haveing a booth at the farmers market. then i think about the cost of that ugh. and i have to deisgn a stand that with "stand out" and look professional. I guess i just wait for that one to get here and take it when it comes. In the mean while i've learned how to sew an internal zipper pocket and make it look professional because hey i'm going to be a professional i guess. Anyway if i liked animal prints i'd love my newest bag. so here it is for you to look at. let me know if you have any suggestions on bags that you guys like and designs you like so i can see if i can recreate them.
I haven't worked at famous more than one day this month so i've had a lot of time to get things together. and lots of designing time. i'm starting to make smaller bags as well but haven't taken any pics of them yet. please give me as much input as you can its really great. thanks to all.

Got Some Pics Up. How long could i be a stay at home mom in UT without starting my own home business?

The Answer is 20 Months. Thats right i'm offically a utah stay at home mom trying to make a living now. I just registered my company name and will hopefully have that all squared away tomorrow. What am i doing you ask. Well those of you who know me the best thing of the last thing i used to like to do and you'll get close...... I am sewing handbags and purses and am going to try to sell them. I'd put some pics up but my camera is dead so you'll all have to wait. All i know is that i've showed the first one that has many mess ups on it to a bunch of people and they think its a great idea. I've made 2 more since then (and that means i made 2 purses yesterday) and started another one today i'm trying to make a few before i start to sell them. I'm thinking i'll put them up on etsy first and see how they do. Anyway Wish me luck. I'm a little nervous but i'm feeling pretty confident. Hope all goes well as i just spent $22. on my company name. Oh yeah i forgot to tell you what it is. Bags For Bettys.

So cross your fingers for me as i start out on this new journey.

lets call it sickness delirium

Last Sunday it all started with kyler and i having a cough and sore throat. And now more than a week later it has effected our entire house and maybe my sanity. Anyway Some more random thoughts.

sickness dislike list
1. one nostril breathing.
2. no nostril breathing
3. the nasty taste of cough medicine
4. kyler's snot on all of my clothes as i can never keep up with his nose.
5. headaches. i really miss the 23 years i had virtually without a real headache.
6. Flem induced laryngitis
7. hot and cold flashes
8. packed sinuses
9. cruddy gunkie eye goobers
10. not wanting to do anything ad if you do do something regretting it later.

that said i've still had some nice things the last week.

1. Kurtis took a day off because he was sick along with the rest of us.
2. watching movies in my pj's while being wrapped up in a nice fuzzy blanket on the couch
3. kyler nuggling down with me.
4. Homemade Chicken noodle soup
5. reading. kurtis finished a book this week and i finished one and started another. and i've read 1 fish 2 fish red fish blue fish to kyler probably 20 times this week.
6. Napping and not feeling bad about it. I can't nap generally but when i'm sick all i seem to want to do is sleep. and i have done a lot of it during the day as kyler has only had one night this week that he slep though.
7. Warm showers
8. not going out in the hustle and bustle. the only place i've been in the last week is to costco for milk. oh and we stopped at target for some meds.
9. fuzzy socks. warm fuzzy socks
10. sickly family time. since we're all sick we spend all the time together. the only problem is that

random thoughts

I love the cosbys. Ok i know this is an old sitcom but it is probably my favorite sitcom of all time and the oder i get the more i like it. It reminds me of my Uncle Kenny and my cousins.

I hate getting older A few months ago i sprained my ankle pretty bad and i just recently started working out again and feeling great. Well monday we played some family basketball and i went up for a rebound against my husband and came down on his foot and sprained it again. So now i am layed up again. I HATE GETTING OLDER. i know that all the injuries i sustained as a younger person are already going to be giving me arthritis as i get older but i hate it now when i hurt myself it is acutally something that hurts me.

i miss clean air. Until just a few days ago utah had the top 5 cities with the worst air quality in the nation. It hurt to breathe outside and was all gloomy. it makes me miss my home in the big sky state, i'd gladly take the freazing cold if i could at least breath.

I've turned into a utah mom. Complete with cooking, cleaning and crafting. I even just started a new blog about these three things so i can have somewhere to talk about just them. Growting up i never thought that i would ever live in utah let alone actually become one of the utah moms. lol.

I love being a mom. Kyler loves and nuggles are the best things there are. I love it when he learns something new and gets excited about it.

New Years Resolutions

ok So i don't really beleive in making new years resolutions simply because most people fail them so instead of resolutions i just call it my working list for self improvement. So here you go

  1. Lose 10 more lbs and become healthier in my eating and lifestyle
  2. do at least a mini triathalon
  3. read jesus the christ.
  4. Finish all the works of jane austin (i have 3 left to go i got all of her books for christmas)
  5. teach kyler his ABC's
  6. start potty training Kyler.
  7. dejunk my junk(house storage)
  8. get a garden growing
  9. try to live a greener life
  10. do family night every week

thats my list for now. There's a lot of reading and a lot of exercise on it. So hopefully i'll be able to at least accomplish half of them. anyway there it is its out there maybe it will give me more gumption to do it all.

Oh and side not if your the work out at home type i found a great video for only $9.00 at walmart or $8.00 at costco that i've been doing for a week now. Its "The biggest Loser Cardio Boot Camp" I would reccomend it to anyone. It lets you choose your work out and gradually get harder at your own speed and the greatest thing is that you don't need anything but the video. it helps if you have some free weights but you don't need them. I kicked my but last week or so i feel like it literally did. I haven't been this sore since i was in basketball hell week. but its a good sore and i feel great for the rest of the day after i do it. So there's my little plug for them.

christmas New years and beyond

Ok so i haven't blogged for a while Kurtis keeps telling me "hey you haven't put anything up yet." so here is my attempt. we'll see if the computer complies with my efforts. oh by the way my finger is now better i had kurtis take out the stitches last week. we spent New years Not quite knowing what we were going to do. Kurtis ended up not having to work from after tuesday that week and i was supposed to work both wednesday and thursday but ended up not having to work thursday. we were going to go up with Kurtis' family to his sister Kimly's fiance's families cabin at the border of wyoming and utah from wednesday on but becuase of the work schedules didn't work out then we were going to do the regular new years with earnshaw family but we decided we didnt' want to take kyler all the way to provo and back late at night. so we ended up going to kurtis' aunts house and playing games. We got thinking after that we should have just left thursday for montana and spent a few days there. I really wish we would have but oh well. i won't bore you anymore i think thats whats up with us right now.

This is Kurtis' winning challange from would you rather the other night with our friend Katie and Brandon.
Kyler jamming out on new years day with his saxophone. Mabey he'll be like mommy and play a real one someday.

This was my attempt at taking kyler sledding last week. Didn't end up sledding at all but eating a lot of snow and chasing a cat.

Oh and sucking on his hat.

eating more snow

Running after the cat

This was one of the mornings kyler was trying to get out of his chair and got stuck.

I did get him out but of course not until after i got a few pics.

This is the Larry H. Miller sing a long at Energy solutions arena. This was a very fun thing to go to. It was free and they gave us vouchers for a jazz game, a bee's game (baseball), buy one get one free at the motorsports go carts, and 1 free large popcorn at a movie. Plus that night we got a free hot dog and drink. Also Peter Brianholt? was playing a mini concert so it was great. he is amazing if you've never heard of him google his youtube video of taylor swift and viva la vida that he played it is amazing.

Kyler not sitting at the sing a long
Christmas morning. I don't have very many pictures this year but a few video's i just didn't want to wait for them to load so here ya go.

the Cost of crafting

so i made some really cute mittens that matched a pair of sweater boots i made yesterday i bought some old shoes and some sweaters from the DI yesterday for 20. and i still have a ton of material left over to make more but i won't be getting to that for a bit as i ended up going to insta care and getting 4 stitches in m left pointer finger. I was poking a hole through some material with some scissors and all the sudden it went through. only problem was that my finger was on the other side. so i sliced straight from the side into the nail. some pics are of my finger at the end.

Mine

Ok so Kyler is a little word sponge these days. in the last week he has learned blue, phooh, tiger, and a jillion other words. One particular word we have been working very hard to not let him here is mine. But alas we have failed. On saturda night we were over at kurtis' parents house playing games and it was me who slipped i wasn't talking to him i was talking to kurtis and he happened to hear. and then it was like the seagulls off of Nemo. He spent at least half an hour in the play room just saying it over and over and over to the dog to the chair to the toys. I do have to admit it was rather funny. But we are hoping that he hasn't quite gotten the conatext for it yet. As he just started nursery yesterday and christmas is just around the corner. Not exactly my favorite choice of a word for him to learn right now. oh well My Bad.

What i love about this time of year!

This last weekend i had my annual holiday baking session with my cousins at Kami's house. I love this because it gives us a little of home. I remember when i was pretty little at Aunty Kays house making all sorts of goodies. we are in fact a very gooodie family. While we were making things the question came up of what is the holiday treat that you associate with christmas. So i thought i would write a list of some of my loves of the season.

1. My holiday treat is Fudge. It just says christmas to me. Everyone in my family makes fudge. My mom, aunt and grandma's are my favorite. My grandma even makes some peanutbutter fudge that i like and i HATE peanut butter.

2. Snow & christmas lights- I love how lights glitter off of the snow. And my favorite is right after it has snowed a bunch and then everything is just calm no one is out and its just calm an quite. It makes me think about the night that christ was born and is just very peaceful.

3. Manheim Steamroller Music-This is a tradition from my parents. When we were decorating for christmas we always had this on so now it is what i listen to all season. My favorties are carol of the bells and Stille Notche.

4. Claymation Holiday Cartoons- I actually like to watch these on thanksgiving night. Which stems back from when i was rather young and they used to show them on tv then. Kurtis got me the box set for christmas the first year we were married. Now i'm teaching kyler to love them. My favorite is actually Santa Claus is Coming to town and then of course Rudolf the red Nosed Reindeer.

5. The lights from the chirstmas tree. I love the light that a tree gives its possibly my favorite thing inside. combine it with the music and i could just sit and read a book next to the tree all night.

6. shopping for everyone- I actaully love shopping for everyone. I always try to be done by thanksgiving now as we are usually either going up for thanksgiving and thats a lot cheaper than shipping or just because i prefer to spend the holiday season relaxed with the presents under the tree when i put it up. But i love getting my list all ready and crossing things off of it. And just finding that present that with make someone happy or their eyes light up.

7. Decorating- I don't have a ton of decorations but my entire house is green ( the lady we bought it from really really liked green.) so christmas is very nice and easy to decorate for. this year i've kinda done a mountain cabin christmas. Lots of pine and dark colors. hopefully i can continue to add to my decore through the years.

8. Family- It just feels like we are more in contact with family that we usually aren't as in contact with during this time of year. This christmas is a little harder for me because its our second in a row away from my family. We did it this way becuase we want to be on track with everyone else. All my cousins go up ever other year so we wanted to be ontrack with them. I love christmas at home but kurtis' family does a really good christmas too. I wish i could combine christmas eve games here with grandma's birthday their and then have christmas day there. But i love it both ways.

9. Fuzzy PJ's on Kyler- something about his fuzzy pjs makes me think of christmas morning.

10. Stalkings by the fire when we looked at our house i loved that it had a fireplace with a mantle. So i acutally do get to hang my stalkings by the fireplace. I also can't wait till i get our new stalkings. My mom sent us some this year that are just the red and white ones but she had my aunt embroider our names on them. But i'm holding out for the knitted ones i grew up with. a lady acutally makes them and they each have your name on them and a picture of something example mine is a snow man, i'm going to get kyler a puppy with a christmas hat on and i'm not sure what for kurtis yet maybe a santa or a rocking horse. Anyway my aunt has these foreveryone in her family and extended and their mantle is getting pretty full. But i love these stalkings so mom and i are working on getting each of our houses a set for us. My mom already has them for our immediate family but not kurtis or kyler yet.

11. my christmas skirt- My grandma made me a christmas tree skirt last year for christmas which i love. I was actually trying to find one last year and figured i'd wait till after christmas to see what i could find. And then i got this one and absolutly love it. my moms was made by my grandma too so it reminds me of home. Plus its is now offically a family heirloom.

Mayo

I just was impressed with myself for actually making mayo on from scratch that i needed to blog about it. Problem is i didn't get to take a picture of it because we used it before i charged my camera. looks and tastes good. It has a slight oil flavor but you make it from ingredients that i at least already had in the house.

1 egg
2 T lemon juice
dash of tabasco sauce. I didn't have this so i used vinegar since thats about all i taste in tabasco. I might add some hot sauce to it next time.

You mix this up with a food processor or i did it with a hand jucie blender thing and when its smooth you start adding 1 1/4 cup vegetable oil to it slowly while you keep blending it.

(you have to use vegetable oil they said or it won't turn out, and the lemon juice cooks the egg so you don't get sick)

So if you run out of mayo or just don't want to go to the store try it out. You can add your own flavors to it too. i got it from Homecooking the blog on my blog watch. Its a lady from Helena MT who just likes to cook. I really like a lot of her recipies and have made a few before she has even like her new chocolate mousse cake i found that one a few years ago. But its fun for ideas.

Thanksgiving in Cali

This year we were supposed to go to Montana for Tday but my parents were a a family friends son's wedding in San Diego so we decided that we would go with Kurtis' family to California for Kacie's soccer tournament. We spent thanksgiving day at Disney Land and had a lot of fun. It was the first time for both Kyler and I. Kurtis hasn't been since right after graduation High school so it was a lot of fun for our whole family. According to everone else it wasn't to increadibly busy. We got to go on all the major rides at least once i got to ride screaming 2x. We had a hopper pass so we spent the morning in disney land the afternoon is california adventure and the night at disneyland. My favorite rides were space mountain and screaming. Kylers was probably Its a small world he loved all of the different things there. Kurtis' favorite was Soaring over California. That was really cool i have to say. anyway. Here are some pics.

This was our trip to the beach we went to Corona de something it wasn't busy at all so it was nice. we were only there for about an hour or so it seemed to me but i could spend all day at the beach and still not have enough. Kyler loved the sand and the seagulls but wasn't sure about the water. It probably didn't help that it was pretty cool outside and the water was freezing.
