What i like about Christmas

1. Do you like hot chocolate or egg nog? Actually i'm not to fond of either. But like both i don't however make an effort to go and buy either. I do love cider though. Hot chocolate makes me have to pee, and i go through phases with egg nog on weather i like it or not.

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just put them under the tree? Santa has never wrapped a present in my life that i ever remember. He doesn't have time for wrapping and what if the paper ripped in his sleigh or when he was coming down the chimmny? Nope i with laura on everything is not wrapped and there are things sticking out of the stockings santa's presents are our for everyone to see christmas morning with your stocking layed next to it.

3. Colored or white lights on tree/house? ok i dont think i used to be so picky about lights until i married kurtis who used to put up christmas lights as one of his jobs. Now i notice things you'd never even think of and have grown a hatred for icicle lights. On the tree it doesn't really matter to me i like any mini lights multi, single colored i just love the lights. outside NO mini lights. Except i do kinda like our neighbors. I like multi but i love the opece? the see through outside big lights. they have a brighter color. I don't really like the blue led's they look kinda purple to me and just don't look right. I do however like them if its just blue and red or blue and some other color. but kurtis has told me the blue i like are really suppoesd to be white but they give a light blue tint. basically i like all light i love them they all make me happy even icicles as long as people have them up. we dont' have them on our house this year because we want to put up LED's for cost purposes but we're going to wait till after christmas so that we can buy them on sale.

5. When do you put up your decorations? We don't have a set time. Last year we didn't have a tree in our tiny apt. but i put up lights and other decorations i'm not sure when i did it i thin it was like the second week in december being prego at the time i can't really remember anything. This year we did it the first week of dec. the week after we got back from thanksgiving in MT. i think from now on it will probably be that way. We waited and made it a family thing kyler even got to put on some ornaments until mommy got to tired to hold him and do it at the same time.

6. What is your favorite holiday dish? I don't really know. At home we have the same thing every year for christmas dinner. Prime rib, baked potato's, stewed beans, lefsa(danish potato bread thats a family tradition my grandma makes it, its part of our heritage), homemade grandma rolls, and salad, parfit, and pies. i don't know whats really my favorite because i've never had anything else so i'll have to wait for this year since its my first christmas away from home and see what i miss. I think my favorite is probably Stewed beans and lefsa eaten together.

7. what is your favorite holiday memory from your childhood? I'm not so sure i have one probably is just everychristmas eve going to great grandma Krantz' for her birthday and singing songs eating and playing games i love it, its my favortie part of christmas.

8. Do you open a gift on Christmas eve? Growing up, we opened presents from our relatives at grandmas house on christmas eve. We don't buy for eveyone now that there are so many of us, but now that i'm part of the anderson clan they open there relative presents and jammies on christmas even and play christmas bingo and have dinner i think i'm not sure if that was just for us last year or not. I never did the jammies thing until last year but i kinda like that tradition.

9. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? I like to try different things. Right now since all of kurtis's ornaments are packed and we dont' have a very extensive set of bought ornaments i decided that i wanted to have a BYU tree this year so it is Blue and white and gold. I usually do a red and gold or red and white tree with my fake poinsetta's on it. but i like my tree this year just as much as i like ever other tree. i just like them all again the lights i just love the glow. i don't think i could ever do a crafty tree but i do like to do different colors and i to those of you who don't think blue is a christmas color try finding a snowman with out a slight hint of blue in it or a wise man or mary? blue is definatly a christmas color.

10. Snow! Love it or dread it? neither i neither love it or dread it. I like it through december at my house i hate driving in it. i love playing in it i hate shoveling it so i think its just in the middle i don't like dealing with it but i like playing with it but after december i would be happy if it just stayed in the mountains. Oh and i'm growing a new hatred for it becuase my husband has to plow now for his boss and he is gone alll the time so i think that might give me a sort of distane for it now.

11. Do you remember your favorite gift? I think i'm kinda like that car commercial i have a favorite every year. I don't think i have ever had one that stood out more the only think i can think of is my stereo that i got when i was in 5th grade i think? maybe sixth. i loved that

13. What is your favorite Holiday dessert? pudge. in my family its not fudge we have a special recipe for pudge it is the best think in the world i love it its the best chocolate and probably the only chocolate i eat in large quanities. and i'm not sure if its a dessert or not i consider it to be one because i don't really like desserts that much but Cheeseballs i love them. i was just saying last night its a good thing that we don't make those the rest of the year.

14. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Grandma's house and family. I love getting together playing game and singing songs it makes me happy i don't feel like its a real christmas without it. It was hard for me last year because we are off track with everyone on and all my cousins where still in utah for christmas and there werent' very many at grandmas house for her bday. but we are getting back on track soon.

15. What tops your tree? this year its an angel. I'm not sure if we ever had a tradition of star or angel growing up i think we always had an angel. I don't really have a preference but i like my angel i think she goes with my tree perfectly and reminds me of what it must have been like for mary to be told that she was going to be giving birth to the literal son of god and all that she went through. and it reminds me of the angels that have come through the centuries and that are still to come.

16. Which do you prefer: giving or receiving? I think most adults prefer giving. it makes you feel good and its just so much fun. i have a hard time staying on budget because i keep seeing things i want to give people so i just don't go out anymore.

17. What is your favorite Christmas song? ok so everyone knows i LOVE music so there are a few. I love the entire manheim steamroller green christmas cd it is what i listen to well basically everyday i love they version of the carol of the bells and stille nohte.but i also love all the songs from a muppet christmas carol, its cold out side, and virtually every other christmas song.

18.Candy canes?I don't like them again i dont' really like sugar and have never really had any special love for candy canes. i did put a big in some hot chocolate the other night and it was yummy. and i like them on the christmas tree my mom usually puts some on the tree and we get to eat them off gradually. but i ususally gave them to my brothers. but i dont' go buy them so...

19.Do you feel Christmas is too commercialized? In many ways yes but also i think its good becuase i'm starting to fear that if it weren't it would be lost altogether. and most of the united states at least would have any reason to even partially remember the savior at this time of year or any other. christmas is what you make it so...but i think even with all the shopping and presents at least there is still a sense of giving and charity and still the spirit of christmas at this time of year.

20. Favorite Christmas movie? I like a lot of christmas movies in fact for christmast last year kurtis got me the big pack of christmas classics that has all the claymation movies. I love that rudolph, santa claus is comin to town, frosty, and of course i like the old grinch, charlie brown christmas, and elf and al the Santa Clause movies with tim allen but i think my favorite has to be a muppet christmas carol. I just love the way it makes you feel and the music in it to me it really shares the message of the season. you can ask my husband how much i love christmas movies i would watch them all year long if he would let me

21. Can you ice skate? yeah but i wouldn't say i do it very well i can go straight and go fast and do little circles but i'm not what you would call very comfortable on them.

22. Are all your Christmas presents ready yet? I've actually been done shopping for a while. I do still have 2 presents to wrap and need to get some stuff for the stockings but other than that yep i'm done.
